Betsey Johnson reminds us that a black swimsuit needn’t be basic with this sexy Truth or Dare Swim Dress.
This is one smoking little number, with its fitted body and flirty short skirt. I love the faint feathery texture on the dress, and the cute gemstone decorated bow on the side. It’s all one piece, with the briefs built in underneath the skirt, so you can easily maintain a bit of modesty. At least that’s the case while you’re out of the water. Such a skimpy style doesn’t seem made for girls frolicking about in the waves.

While its looks will turn heads, there are a few features that help make it functional. The shoulder straps are completely adjustable for the perfect fit, and the swimsuit is completely lined to help it last. I’m just not sure Betsey Johnson has gone far enough here. Some padding in the bust would help smaller girls sizzle, while some extra support in the body would eliminate the dreaded muffin top.
Something tells me though, Betsey Johnson isn’t catering for girls with problem areas. The swimsuit is offered in a fairly narrow size range of small to large, effectively disregarding anyone on the fringes. At $119.99 it’s no bargain, but it’s also not unreasonably priced for a swimsuit that’s all in one.
