These retro red sun shades are just like the ones that Sue Lyon wore as the fetching young temptress in Stanley Kubrick’s classic film. That flick was made in the early 1960s, but the coquettish charms of these cute sunglasses haven’t diminished over the decades.

These shades look the business, so I was thrilled to see their price tag. At just $10, they’re a real steal. But of course, that meager amount of money doesn’t buy luxury or fancy sun smart credentials.
These sunglasses are only made from plastic, so they may not last more than a season or two before snapping. The dark lenses are tinted to take care of glare from the sun, but they’re not likely to block out too many UV rays. If you’re counting on these to really protect your eyes from damage you may be sorely disappointed. On the plus side, plastic is very easy to take care of. Any spots or smears will simply wipe away with a damp cloth.
Whether you see value here depends on what you expect for $10? Personally, I’m just happy to see something looking so stylish for this kind of cash.
