This is one of those rare cover-ups which manages to be as functional as it is fashion forward. All too often it seems we lose style in the pursuit of sun protection, so I’m impressed with what Fantasie’s done here. The tropical floral print is a summer classic, although in black and red Fantasie’s made the pattern feel fresh. Rather than letting it hang, Fantasie’s added a tie around the waist to create a fitted shape.

This San Jose tunic might have long sleeves, buts its semi-sheer polyester fabric should ensure it doesn’t feel stifling in the summer heat. The lightweight fabric will breathe so it shouldn’t stick to our skin as the mercury soars.
It’s a little disappointing that Fantasie doesn’t assure us of the material’s sun smart credentials though. While any long-sleeved garment will always provide more protection than a bikini, I wish I knew its SPF rating. It’s those little assurances that make us more willing to part with our cash.
