Zac Posen will add sunglasses to his already comprehensive fashion collection. The American designer has inked a deal with eyewear specialists Illesteva for the range.
The agreement paves new ground for both firms. This is Zac Posen’s first sunglasses collection, and it’s the first time Illesteva has collaborated with another fashion house.

Given that the venture is untested for both parties, it makes sense that they’re starting small. The sunglasses collection will be a limited edition line featuring just two styles. Sun lovers can choose from Posen’s unique interpretation of the classic cat-eye frame, and a more traditional oval design.
Both styles will be available in clear and tortoiseshell, green, brown, yellow, and leopard printed finishes. I love the range of colors, which should please conservative beach goers and more daring fashion fans.
“As we develop the Zac Posen brand, sunglasses allow me to maintain an aspect of flair and attitude for clothing that transitions into day,” Posen explained. He also declared that working with a relatively small firm like Illesteva has allowed him “to have a focused collection in the first stage of the eyewear development.“
Unless you’re shopping from his Z Spoke label, anything bearing the Zac Posen label isn’t cheap. So it’s unsurprising to hear the new Zac Posen sunglasses will cost $300. If you’ve got the cash to spare, you can find them at Colette, Opening Ceremony, and Illestva’s website next month.
